oops

So…I was supposed to post yesterday. I didn’t for 3 reasons.

  1. I had three different topics I was going to write about, then deleted all three.
  2. I didn’t think about the blog once the entire day. I did notice right as a woke up this morning.
  3. I had another post idea but I wasn’t a fan of how it was turning out, and I don’t want to post something I don’t like, just because it made the deadline.

So you’re probably wondering what this post is about by now. Well……..I don’t really know. I probably should have planned this out. I actually did have 3 plans but ended up not liking any of the ideas around the time I had to post. So I’m not really sure what this post is about. I don’t want it to be about not knowing what to post.

So…I tried it all. It’s not Tuesday at 12:02 A.M. and I still haven’t posted yet. I tried crafts and art projects but that wasn’t working…so maybe I’ll just talk and see where it goes.

I’ve started every paragraph with “so,”so far. I started yoga this month. I heard it was supposed to be relaxing, but I was skeptical. I don’t relax easily, so I wasn’t thinking that yoga was going to help. I was very wrong. It is so relaxing. You forget your thoughts and almost go into a trance. At one point, I even purposely tried to think of a negative thought, and I couldn’t. I am constantly thinking of negative thoughts, so this was nice. I am really happy I started it, but I wish I had it before and after math class, that would make things much less terrible!

I suggest yoga, especially to those who get stressed easily or anxiety…

So I just blinked it is 5:27  A.M. This blog post doesn’t want to work with me. I’m sorry for this boring post, my brain just doesn’t want to be nice today.

35 random facts about me

Hello and welcome (back?) to my blog! I keep on posting late in and barely making it but I’m trying. This week might have more than one post because of me coming up with a bunch of ideas while thinking of a topic for this Monday. To get to know me better, I’m going to tell 35 random facts about me.

1. I’m such a picky eater. It drives my mother nuts. I don’t like things too sweet and I don’t like almost any vegetables. I don’t like strawberries, blueberries, cranberries, or blackberries. I don’t like peanut butter on peanut butter and jelly sandwiches but I do like peanut butter. I should do a more detailed list of foods I don’t like another time.

2. I get distracted very easily.

3. I used to be a huge bookworm. Again that was in the past. I can only really write now. I can’t read for 2 minutes without being distracted or bored and I have to remove all distractions from the room if I’m trying to read. Last time I read, the book angered me so I closed it and haven’t read a real novel since.

4. I hate math. Not because I just don’t like it, but I am absolutely terrible at it. Which is unfair considering my mom is a math whiz. I also can’t relate to math or express myself through math. Something about science blows my mind though, leading me to the next fact.

5. I love science videos. I love watching someone rant about something scientific as I watch, not understanding most of it. One YouTube channel that makes science very interesting (and will blow your mind) is Vsauce.

6. I LOVE PIZZA

7. I LOVE MACARONI AND CHEESE

8. I LOVE CHEESE

9. Fractions are out to kill me.

10. I am really girly. Most of the girls I know that are girly now have said that they used to be major tomboys. I’ve never been that way. I’ve always been at least moderately girly.

11. Most of my makeup costed 5 dollars or less. Five Below makeup isn’t good quality, if you’re wondering.

12. I used to do that thing that all the “cool” 12 year olds did where you’d go from being obsessed with something to dissing it. Age 11: “I LOVE JUSTICE! IT’S THE BEST STORE!” Age 12: “Ugh Justice is for babies! I HATE Justice! Claire’s is so much better!” Age 11: “I LOVE DISNEY CHANNEL!” Age 12: “Ew Disney Channel sucks! Teen Nick is what watch!”

13. I used to think that giving birth was like having really bad constipation when I was little. So every time I would be constipated I imagined that I was giving birth.I thought it was good practice. I probably thought this because they’d always say “push” when on TV and it came from that low area so it made sense to me.

14. I am notorious for procrastinating. People always say I can’t turn in my best work when I wait until the last minute. But doing things at the last minute actually motivates me to get it done and do it well so it doesn’t seem like I waited until the last minute to do it.

15. I hate sagging pants.

16. I don’t like judging what people wear unless it’s just atrocious. Sagging pants are an exception because they’re atrocious.

17. I want to rip out my eyeballs when people use the wrong your/you’re.

18. i like typing without punctuation because it’s more aesthetically pleasing, but i always use the right your/you’re, there/they’re/their, it’s/its, and lets/let’s.

19. I hate watermelon. It tastes like watered down watermelon juice and there’s barely any flavor.

20. I absolutely cannot eat a hotdog without a bun and ketchup. They make me nauseous.

21. HGTV is great. I know that’s not about me but it’s a fact.

22.  I love food. Though I don’t like a lot of food, I love the food I do like.

23. I hate when people copy what I do. I get that’s like a form of flattery but it just feels weird to me. I dislike it.

24. I love Finding Nemo.

25. I love Monster’s Inc.

26. I love High School Musical.

27. I love Hamilton.

28. I like making art but I am not good at it.

29. I can’t do crafts or art that is supposed to look like something specific or I will get so frustrated. Sometimes so frustrated that I cry.

30. I cry very easily. I especially hate when someone asks me if I’m okay. That makes the waterfall pour.

31. Contrary to the one before this, I have never cried in a movie. I’ve cried because of a short film on YouTube, but even then it was only just a few tears.

32. I always am excited when drama happens until it includes me, then I hate it.

33. Unless it’s a nap, I cannot fall asleep before midnight.

34. I was originally going to do 50 facts, but I have no idea what to say about myself.

35. I like lists.

Thanks for reading! Like I said, I might do an extra post this week due to me having a bunch of ideas. I hope you return next Monday!

NYC!

It has always been on my bucket list to go to New York. It’s also been on my bucket list to see a Broadway play…well I can cross off two things now!

On Easter morning, my mother woke me and my sister up (or maybe she sent my brother to do it…my memory isn’t the best) and called us downstairs. Me and my little sister ran downstairs and weren’t expecting anything. Well lo and behold, there was a basket full of candy and 2 envelopes. I was so confused and had NO idea what was going to be inside of the envelope. Me and my sister both opened the envelopes and freaked out. On April 10th we were going to New York City to see Aladdin on Broadway!

Yesterday my mom woke me up, bright and early at 6 o’clock in the morning. I hobbled out of bed and went downstairs to get my clothes for the day. I went downstairs  because by the time I went to bed, my clothes were in the dryer and it was still running. I grabbed some black pants with a warm white sweater and some tennis shoes that are really good for walking. I was sad that it was going to be cold because I had plans to wear a dress for my outfit but I liked this outfit. I wore a light gray coat over my sweater. It wasn’t a thick coat at all, I would’ve been too hot with a heavier coat on. We picked up my aunt on the way to the train station.

The train ride was…interesting. Nice at first but wasn’t too great when my sister threw up from anxiety or motion sickness or something. She felt okay after the train ride so that’s great. We arrived in New York City around 12 o’clock. We went to the front on Penn Station to wait for my friend and her mother, when a man instantly already knew that we (my mom, sister, aunt, and I) were tourists. Crazy. When my friend showed up, we had almost 3 hours left to explore. The first thing we saw was the Empire State Building. In D.C. nothing is to be taller than the Monument, so there are no skyscrapers. Everything was huge in New York. IMG_5542[1]

Here are some more photos of the things we saw in NYC!

We had to head to the show after walking around and sightseeing a bit.

So Aladdin was amazing. The set design was beautiful, the acting was great, the music was great. Everything was great. There were some really funny parts and it was just so captivating. I was never bored. There were some parts that took a lot of engineering and it was so cool! If you haven’t seen it, you really should. It was so good. addin.png

Right after the show, me and my friend went to Sephora to just look around. I tried on a sample of this foundation that had very orangey undertones which do not look good on me. I tried to wipe it off with the palm of my hand but…well…it looked like I had a really bad spray tan on my right palm. Worse part is, the foundation was really good quality, so it refused to come off. It stayed on until 1 o’clock that night when I took a shower. I even tried taking it off with alcohol wipes but it wouldn’t budge. If only I remembered the brand. I’d recommend it then.

We went to a fancy McDonald’s I’ve wanted to go to since I was really young. It looks like the backstage of a play. I was looking for pictures for ten minutes and I couldn’t find one.

Next we searched (for longer than expected) for a pizza place. We found a Sbarro and I got some pepperoni pizza there. I love pizza. I was so sad to go home. We parted ways from my friend around 7:15 to head back to Penn Station. It was an amazing day and I can’t wait to go to New York again.

Thanks for reading! See you next Monday!

jams (#1)

This isn’t about different types of jam. It’s about one of my favorite things…MUSIC! I love music. Spotify Premium is one of the best gifts that I’ve ever gotten (thanks, Mom). I listen to music every single day and my earbuds are in my ears at least an hour every day. AT LEAST. I have a pretty diverse music taste. I like almost all music even if I don’t listen to it (except metal and country. Never country). So my favorite genres are pretty well-known. I like pop-hip hop-alternative. Not in that exact order. Lately I have been really jumping around in terms of music. I wanted to make a Spotify playlist but I decided to make a YouTube playlist so you can choose the specific song you want to hear if you don’t have Premium. If you want a Spotify playlist you can email me at dahliasorchid@gmail.com. But let’s talk about the songs on this playlist.

First I want to just post the link to my favorite album in a while. Mind Of Mine by Zayn is a really good album. You can listen to it here. Warning: some songs have some inappropriate language.

35b1058f9ccfc69ddaadd33eee29c6c2-960x960x1

^my brother and my friend both thought that he actually had tattoos that young.

Now onto the actual playlist. The starter for the pop section of the playlist is an upbeat, song called Lush Life by Zara Larrson. I never heard of Zara until just a few weeks ago but I’m liking the songs I’ve heard by her so far.

Also in this playlist we have Pity Party by Melanie Martinez, LIKE I WOULD by Zayn, Dangerous Woman by Ariana Grande, Wild Things by Alessia Cara, Cheap Thrills by Sia, Roses by the Chainsmokers (feat. ROZES), Middle by DJ Snake (feat. Bipolar Sunshine), and Sugar by Robin Shulz (feat. Francesco Yates).

Here is the full playlist.

was going to do a hip hop and alternative section but I realized that most mainstream hip hop songs don’t have the best language and I don’t have that many alt jams this month. But I am really like Needed Me by Rihanna but I didn’t put that on the list because it would seem out of place because of the language. It’s a really good song and I suggest you listen to it.

Right now my favorite artists are Zayn, Alessia Cara, and Melanie Martinez. They all have great songs and you should listen to those songs.

If you’re wondering why I say “jam” so much is mostly because (and you can ask my family about this) every single time a song I like comes on I say “this is my jam.” Every song.

Well that’s it for this Monday! I hope you all enjoyed this music-filled post. See you next Monday!

p.s. or maybe I’ll see you in a surprise post sometime this week. Who knows.
